MEng Capstone: Robotic Last-Mile Package Delivery
(in progress)
Student, Fall 2025 - Spring 2026
For my Masters of Engineering Capstone Project at UC Berkeley, my team and I (10 members) were given autonomy by our advisor to select a robotics project that can be commercialized and could have a real impact on the world. Using open-source Amazon delivery data and extensive industry interviews, we decided that our value proposition - using mobile robots and automatic back-of-delivery-van package sorting to deliver packages to households - was strong enough to continue with this idea. Now, I am working on the mobile robot subteam of the project, responsible for robust movement across various terrains, quality localization and computer vision to avoid obstacles/pedestrians and find delivery points, and quality hardware design for both the chassis and the end-effector to be able to handle any type of package. I’m also working in a project management role, seeking out funding opportunities to get the project off the ground, ensuring everybody’s skills and desires are aligned with what they’re working on, and continually doing research to ensure that our design direction actually solves a problem and will be useful. This project is ongoing (I do not yet have enough images to share on this portfolio page).
